2 Sketches from Veronese Painting

Here are two faster sketches from a later painting by Veronese. You can see in the images that much of working out the proportions of the figures is to map out the major landmarks and to think about how these relate between the upper and lower half of the body. Something that I have to remind students to do is too resist the urge to finish off parts and to instead keep the drawing consistent and build it up in stages.
