Recent Painting Class Demos

Here are some paintings that I've done recently as demo's for some acrylic painting classes at the MFA this session.  I usually just work on them for about 10 to 15 minutes and show the initial blocking in of the major colors but I wanted to show the next step which is showing the light hitting the objects and getting the color variety. The first project we work on is a black and white painting using Payne's Grey and the second uses the complementary colors blue and orange to experiment with the variety of mixtures from combining them. I think they were all painted in an hour. The palette was Cerulean Blue, Ultramarine Blue, a mixed warm orange with Cad Red Med and Cad Yellow Med, cool orange with Alizarin Crimson and Cad Yellow Med, Burnt Umber and white.
