I've been experimenting in classes with showing step by step examples of how to approach drawing with different media. There is always a fine line that I don't want convey that this is the only way to do something but I've found that it can dispel the opacity of process that many paintings and drawing are created from. The first example is one I did on a wacom tablet from a Chardin still life painting to show the process of moving around an image and placing similar values everywhere instead of finishing single objects. The next was a pen drawing showing some useful steps for drawing with ink.
